ISDE 2008 Fundraiser

We navigated our way to a super-secret private motocross track near Santa Maria, California for an ISDE Fundraiser for the 2008 USA Trophy Team that was organized by Nathan Woods. Other members of the Trophy Team in attendance were Kurt Caselli and Ricky Dietrich and numerous other pros and ISDE supporters. The location for the fundraiser was the track run by CC Moto Club. This track is a private track that is only open to members of the club, but today it was open to the public to help raise money for the US Trophy Team. For many this was a rare opportunity to ride on a beautifully maintained and watered private track. Also it was great way to spend a beautiful, sunny California day and help support the efforts of Team USA as they prepare to send what has been dubbed as the “Dream Team” to Greece for the 2008 International Six Days Enduro.
Upon arriving at the track we were informed that we could not take pictures of the entrance of the track and were sworn to secrecy as to the exact location of the track. The CC Moto Club takes great pride in keeping this hidden little gem, well um…hidden. Once you’ve been there you can see why. The track was well groomed and well watered, they had a water truck on hand as well as a built in sprinkler system. There is also a mini track for the kids, an endurocross type section, and what they call the “goat trail” [an un-groomed trail section in the back]. Rumor has it that there was a 100ft step-up jump in the back, which we can neither confirm nor deny.
The day started out with a morning full laps by most of the people in attendance. Nathan Woods, Kurt Caselli, and Ricky Dietrich were putting some pretty blistering lap times. Followed up by a session in the Endurocross section, blasting over logs, rocks, and tractor tires. A great lunch was supplied with tri-tip sandwiches and ice-cold drinks.
There was a silent auction with all sorts of cool stuff, DVDs, Signed Jerseys, parts etc. In addition to the silent auction there was a raffle that was a hit with the kids and all the adults. The team graciously signed autographs for anyone who asked. It was a true family event and all the guys from CC Moto Club were very accommodating and enthusiastic. The event proved to be a success and was a lot of fun. It was a great way to go and ride a track that is usually closed to the public and meet your favorite rider, not to mention supporting a great cause.
We shot some video and it should be up soon, so be sure to check back for details. A photo gallery can be found here.

What a blast everyone had at the ISDE 2008 Fundraiser at CCMC. If you were not able to be there, you really missed a very special event at CCMC! Every ISDE rider was so nice and generous and when any of us asked for autographs, asked a question, or just wanted a picture with you, you did not hesitate to respond and always with a smile. All the kids had a blast and so did the adults.
Thanks for coming out to our club and we wish you much luck in Greece!
