Day 6 is traditionally just one long special test. In recent years it has been an MX. About 50 events back in Germany it was a road race. In 1973 in Pittsfield Massachusetts it was a grass track MX in the rain. In Chile a couple years back the MX was on a supercross type course built on the beach. In Poland in 2003 it was a dusty farmer’s field that was so narrow, dusty and dangerous that the riders protested, and only a couple motos were run before a walk off by the riders cancelled the MX. In Mexico last year the last day was cancelled to to safety concerns due to some gang violence in town. In Portugal and New Zealand the last test was on a full GP Motocross track.

In this year’s event the riders will go from the start at Kotka directly to the Karhula MX Arena directly north a few Kilometers. The motos will be arranged by speed and displacement class. C1 club riders with the most time first down to the fastest trophy team riders.

When the riders get to the MX track they go through a time check, and their bikes are re-impounded and they wait for their moto time to come up. This will be their last shot at gaining a few more points.

With the motos done the 2011 ISDE will officially come to a close. The last remaining event will be the closing ceremonies that night.
